Amigos de Patzún is run by a local teacher, Anacleto Catu. Anacleto received a CASS scholarship in the mid-90s to study in the United States and is deeply committed to advancing impoverished populations through education. He runs all in-country financial and administrative aspects of the program. Anacleto meets with scholars and their families each month to check on progress and reimburse students for transportation costs.
